Harmony Music Therapy offers Mommy and Me music groups by a Board-Certified Music Therapist for children of ALL ability levels age 6-36 months. Children attend weekly music groups with their parent(s) where they engage in fun and stimulating music experiences.
We keep our groups small (3-6 participants maximum) in order to ensure the best possible environment for each child in which they will get the individualized attention and focus they deserve. We strive to put children together in groups with peers who have similar needs and with whom they will be most successful. Groups are once a week and are continuous throughout the year. Initial registration covers 10 consecutive weeks of groups beginning with the first available start date.
We have two options for group rates:
$15 Per Group: This service option is for children who will have one shared group goal with their peers with no additional individualized treatment planning.
$30 Per Group: This service option is for children who will have individualized treatment plans with 2-4 goals and objectives which the Music Therapist will address and track during each group. Goals will be based on the child’s individual needs as identified through assessment, and may fall under the domains of motor, cognitive, social, communication, sensory integration, and/or emotional regulation domains. This is typically recommended for children with developmental concerns and/or special needs.
Instead of following an outlined curriculum with predetermined songs and activities, the music therapist carefully designs activities with the individual needs of participants in mind. These may range from week to week depending on the needs of participants. All interventions are designed to address needs in the following areas of development: Musical Development, Social Skills, Communication, Cognition, Motor Development, Sensory Integration, and/or Emotional Regulation.
