Open Position: Clinical Music Therapist

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah & Orem, Utah

Start Date: July/August

Compensation: Compensation is hourly with a range of $24-$26/hour based on experience and level of education (equals $48,000-$52,000/year at full time) 

Qualifications: MUST be a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). Any applicants without the Music Therapy credentials and Bachelor’s Degree will not be considered. 

Status: Full & Part Time positions available

Population(s): Mental Health (children, adolescent, adult, & geriatric), AND/OR special needs (Autism, Down Syndrome, Deaf-Blind, developmental delay, etc.)

Schedule: Work opportunities available Monday-Saturday. Will design a work week according to therapist availability with a maximum of 5 days/week

Job Description: Harmony Music Therapy is looking for a passionate and innovative Board Certified Music Therapist to join our team! Position will include opportunities for mental health and/or special needs populations in Utah & Salt Lake County. MT-BC will be part of a dynamic team with opportunity for innovation, leadership, and community involvement.

Therapist will be provide group and individual music therapy services, complete music therapy assessments, design treatment plans, keep accurate data, compile reports, teach typical and adaptive music lessons, and other activities. Clinical Music Therapists must provide creative and innovative music therapy sessions and work to best serve the clients he/she is treating. He/she will demonstrate punctuality and professionalism.

Clinical Music Therapists will also be expected to positively communicate with other members of the Harmony team, communicate effectively with parents and care-givers, and maintain a strong line of communication with Harmony supervisors.

This position will require travel to private homes, schools, and facilities; applicant must have access to reliable transportation.

Clinical Music Therapists will be expected to attend weekly team meetings.

Professional Responsibilities: Clinical Music Therapists must adhere to the Code of Ethics and only practice music therapy within the Scope of Practice as outlined by the American Music Therapy Association. Staff Music Therapists will participate in continuing education and supervision as required by Harmony Music Therapy and the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
