Little Green Frog: A Song for Early Childhood

adminAutism Treatment, Resources, Special Needs Children
A fun and engaging song to use in early childhood settings!

This is one of my absolute favorite finger play songs to use in early childhood (it’s tied with the Monkey and Alligator game:), and kids absolutely love it! I first found it on songsforteaching.com as recorded by Jim Rule (find the recording here) and I just fell in love with it. Even some of my middle school age students with severe disabilities were crazy about it, so don’t put an age limit on this sort of thing!

Some of the goals I’ve addressed when using this song include:

  • increased vocalization
  • attention
  • social referencing
  • imitation

Let me know how it works for you! This is one for both parents and therapists to use in whatever ways work for your kids in early childhood. Enjoy!

Love this variation. Thanks for sharing! I’m not familiar with the monkey and the alligator game, though. Maybe you can share that one next? 🙂
