Early Childhood Developmental Music Groups for Children!

adminAutism Treatment, Music Therapy Business, Resources, Special Needs Children
Early Childhood is a crucial time for development. Let music be a part of it for your child!

We are currently restructuring our early childhood music therapy groups! Up until now the groups have been focused on individuals with disabilities, but we are now inviting children of all abilities to participate and interact with one another. The idea behind this is that the kids can be great peer models for each other and can have a positive impact as they learn and grow from their interactions. If interested, you can get more information and register HERE

Participants attend weekly music groups where they engage in music interventions to improve functioning in the following areas of development:

Social Skills
Communication
Cognition
Motor Development

Groups are once a week and go all year long! Initial registration covers 12 consecutive weeks of groups beginning with the first available start date. We work with early childhood in the infant/toddler age to school age and divide participants into groups according to their needs and age range.

Groups last about 45 minutes or less, depending on the age range of participants. Children are placed in groups with same age peers with anywhere from 3-6 children per group, depending on the needs of the participants. Parents are invited to attend if the child needs additional support.

For children with special developmental concerns, the music therapist will create a treatment plan based on assessment with goals and objectives to focus and track the child’s progress. The therapist will maintain data on the child’s progress as well as submit a summary to parents of the child’s progress on specified goals at the end of each quarter. Goals and objectives are determined based on the child’s need as determined by information on the application, as well as continuous observation and assessment.

We have two options for rates:

$15 Per Group: This service option is for children who will have one shared group goal with their peers with no additional individualized treatment planning.

$30 Per Group: This service option is for children who will have individualized treatment plans with goals and objectives which the Music Therapist will address and track during each group. Goals will be based on the child’s individual needs as identified through assessment, and may fall under the domains of motor, cognitive, social, communication, sensory integration, and/or emotional regulation domains. This is typically recommended in early childhood for children with developmental concerns and/or special needs.
